Hi,
My name is Zephyr Clarke-Dolberg. I have been passionate about
dogs since I was a small child. My mother had developed allergies
some years after getting her first dog. After our first dog Mavis
passed away, it was many years before my mother learned of the
Portuguese Water Dog and eventually became a breeder of them.
It was between this time that my desire to be around dogs lead me
to ride my bicycle to the local dog pound in Milton, Mass. It was
here that my true affinity and affection for dogs of MASSIVE
proportions began. I would show up on my bike and they would let
me walk the dogs. One day I showed up and there was a English
Mastiff/Great Dane mix, he was huge and beautiful, off we went
walking down the winding wooded back road, we walked off the
back road on to a path that went into the woods and lead to a
small pond. It was fall and you could see far into the woods, we
had ignored the no trespassing signs as we wandered in, suddenly
the sound of fall leaves russling drew my attention to two
Doberman Pinschers running towards us (Not Friendly) I RAN, he
stayed, by the time I hit the pavement I heard a lot of commotion,
when the noise subsided the Dobies were gone, and my new giant
buddy sauntered onto the pavement to meet me. It was on my
23rd birthday that I got My first GIANT, TUTT an English Mastiff
(200LBS.) Picked him up in Connecticut and was living in SOUTH
BEACH at the time. Tutt was awsome and was a Monster but had
chronic health issues his whole life; constant yeast infections,
entropian eyelid, sensitive stomach, allergies etc. it was hard on
my heart and my pocket. After Tutt passed away in 2007 I began
to hunt for what I had been thinking about since 1998
when I saw the Hermes Olde English Bulldogges in a Dog World
magazine. There was a picture of Greg Hermes with his FAMOUS
DOGGE DIO, who was reportedly 148lbs with a 33 inch head.
There was a picture of ROXY a 110lb. female. These massive
dogs only came to about the knees of Mr. Hermes. The bone
structure and head size were amazing. Forearm Thickness so
extreme I had never seen a dog like that before. I was HOOKED!
I got on the phone right away & called Hermes to ask him more
about his Giant Bulldogges, one thing that he stressed was that he
was breeding to eliminate the health issues associated with
modern AKC Bulldogs by recreating old style Roman bulldogges
and the dogs were monsters yet low to the ground to boot. I didn't
have the money and already had a young Mastiff at the time, but
was hugely impressed by the dogs and never stopped thinking
about those extreme dogs since then. Those two dogs have been
the closest thing to me, to my ideal bulldogge. There have been
and will be many more Greats from these lines if I have anything to
say about it. Check out our ancestors page. Mr. Hermes captured
for a moment the most extreme genes as far as I am concerned &
I have not yet seen them duplicated and rare though they might be,
they are out there. The Hermes bulldogges certainly don't always
look the same but they do seem to be predisposed to a
Garbage-Can Heads, Thick Bone & Massive Features, but how
boring would it be if they all looked the same.
My mission as a breeder of these awesome dogs is to continue to
achieve head, chest, bone, width, amazing temperament and Bully
Looks plus improve upon anything I feel is lacking . I am a Dog

and these dogges are highly inteligent and trainable, but need a
firm hand because they are so powerful and they can be stubborn
Bulldogges. They are sweet and docile as can be, but don't let that
fool you, they will have you back at a moments notice and guard
your family with their life. MR. HERMES had a saying "FIRST TO
BEFRIEND....AND FOREMOST TO DEFEND" they are wonderful
with children They withstand temperatures 50 degrees below 0, to
90 degrees plus, and top out at weights over 140lbs. They can
reach a height of up to 24 inches. My dogs are old school lines,
which in my opinion look better. The Hermes Headpiece is like a
stamp & very recognizable.

I leaned the hard way in the summer OF 09 that even with superior
breathing and health the Olde Bulldogge is still limited depending on
climate and activity, so just as with all Brachycephalic breeds, PLEASE
BE CAREFUL NOT TO LET THEM OVER DO IT IN THE HEAT. These
Dogges are susceptible to the same issues as all large and Giant
Breeds, all bulldogs because of the shape of their body have the
potential for some issues but often it can be nutritionaly related, NO
BREED IS FREE OF GENETIC DEFECTS OR HEALTH CONCERNS.
that being said I have sought out dogges of Great health and lineage in
order to greatly reduce the possibility of heartache as much as I can.
The breeder can never control how exactly a pup or dog is kept, fed or
handled once it leaves our posession, and these things absolutely affect
how your dogge will develop and grow ;overfeeding can lead to
developmental bone growth problems just as much as underfeeding. I
know what it's like to loose a companion in your arms or have to watch
them suffer through daily life. My sis has gone through issue after issue
with her english bulldogs, both developed cherry eye, small
trachea(NEEDED SPECIAL SURGERY) The list goes on and on.
Luckily they can still manage to eat a raw diet with a little more effort
that a dog with an actual muzzle. If you ask most vets who there number
one clients are in terms of who spends the most money with them, they
will often say English Bulldog owners. There are three books that I would
like to recommend.. (GROW YOUR PUPS WITH BONES & GIVE YOUR
DOG A BONE). WRITTEN BY DR. IAN BILLINGHURST and (RAW
MEATY BONES PROMOTE HEALTH. WRITTEN BY A BRITTISH VET
TOM LONSDALE) . THESE BOOKS AND MY OWN RESEARCH HAVE
GIVEN ME A GUIDE TO TRULY MAKING MY DOGGES AS HEALTHY
AS CAN BE, IF YOU WANT TO BE SPOOKED THAN DO A GOOGLE
SEARCH FOR (PET FOOD SECRETS). I AM CONVINCED THAT MY
MASTIFF TUT R.I.,P. WHO HAD CHRONIC YEAST INFECTIONS HIS
WHOLE LIFE COULD HAVE BETTER LIFE WITHOUT THE GRAIN
DIET, AND A STRONGER IMMUNE SYSTEM FROM EATING RAW.

FROZEN WHEN GIVEN. I FEED FROZEN FOR SEVERAL REASONS
1.LOWER TO NO BACTERIA
2.LESS MESS
3.GIVING A DOG FROZEN MEAT AND BONE REALLY FORCES THEN
TO CHEW AND LEARN TO EAT THE WAY NATURE INTENDED, BY
RIPPING AND TEARING AND CHEWING NOT INHALING. THIS AIDS
IN DIGESTION BY ALLOWING THE BUILD UP THE STOMACHS
ACIDS, NONE OF WHICH HAPPENS WITH KIBBLE. THAT IS WHY
WE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH BLOAT IN LARGE DOGS, OR WHY
THEY SAY NOT TO LET LARGE DOGS EXERCISE AFTER EATING.
YOU SEE FOR YOURSELF IF YOU WET SOME KIBBLE IT WILL
EXPAND 5 TIMES THE SIZE IT WAS ORIGINALLY, SO WHAT
HAPPENS??? YOUR DOG OR PUP INHALES A BUNCH OF FOOD
THAT NOW EXPANDS IN IT'S STOMACH JUST SITTING THERE,
BECAUSE THE STOMACH IS OVERWHELMED WITH AN
ABUNDANCE OF FILLER THAT THE BODY DOES NOT DIGEST OR
EVEN USE FOR NUTRITION. IT'S CRAZY TO THINK THAT A DOGS
THAT IS GIVEN 3 LBS. OF MEAT AND BONE WILL POOP ABOUT
AND OUNCE OR TWO, WHICH MEANS THEY ARE ABSORBING ALL
OF THE AVAILABLE NUTRITION. IF YOU GIVE A DOG 2 CUPS OF
KIBBLE HE WILL POOP 1 AND 1/2 CUPS, THIS TELLS ME THAT
THEY ARE NOT ABSORBING THE NUTRITION OR ARE GETTING

FOOD BEING FED . I ENCOURAGE YOU TO DO YOUR OWN
